On Tuesday, December 19, 2023, the Hays County Sheriff's office investigated a family disturbance in Kyle, Texas. During the investigation, they received information that David Urias Mejia-Villagran, one of the individuals involved in the call, may have killed a person at 2005 Willow Creek Drive in Austin, Texas.
Austin Police Department (APD) Officers responded to the South Shore apartments located at 2005 Willow Creek Dr. When officers arrived, they found a man, later identified as Jorge Ordonez-Perez, in the parking lot with gunshot wounds. Perez was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Homicide Unit detectives and Crime Scene Unit specialists were called to process the scene. As the investigation progressed, it was revealed that Villagran shot Perez during a disturbance related to a romantic relationship Perez had with Villagran's wife.
Villagran was arrested and charged is with 1st degree felony murder.
