Festival

Four words that get Austin’s hips moving and excited visitors flocking to our town for two 3-day weekends of live music, food, fun and festival flags. The event is hosted at Zilker Park, located in the heart of Austin, and sees thousands of attendees a day. In addition and relation to that, it requires there to be many road closures around the park area so that attendees can safely get to the festival.

If you’re planning on attending ACL or even driving around town during the festival days, know that portions of Barton Springs Road, Stratford Drive, Lou Neff Road and Tommey Road will be closed to make way for glittered festival goers.

With that, and the help of our friends over at the City of Austin Department of Transportation and Public Works, we’ve got a list of useful travel tips to get you to the festival.

From Republic Square (downtown):

1. Fetch the #803 with CapMetro (or use a different route with their trip planner)

2. Hop on the free ACL shuttle

From elsewhere in Austin

1. Walk or ride your bike. Bike parking at Zilker Park is available at Stratford Drive after crossing the Mopac Pedestrian Bridge, and on Toomey Road and Sterzing Street

Taking a MetroBike? Staff will be on-site at the festival with valet at the 1600 block of Barton Springs Rd.

2. Grab an e-scooter!

3. Use a rideshare. It'll most likely drop off and pick up off South Lamar Blvd., MoPac Frontage Road or Veterans Drive.

Happy ACL-ing!
