AUSTIN, TEXAS – Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) passenger traffic growth for May 2023 was down 1.98% compared to May 2022 with 1,981,813 passengers flying during the month.

Passenger Activity: Total passenger traffic for May 2023 was 1,981,813, down 1.98% compared to May 2022. May 2023 enplanements totaled 1,013,953, down 1.74%. Southwest Airlines passengers totaled 754,917, down 4.2%; American Airlines passengers totaled 480,135, down 9.0%; Delta Air Lines passengers totaled 233,647, down 0.5%; United Airlines passengers totaled 227,764, up 10.4%; Alaska Airlines passengers totaled 78,265, down 13.6%; Spirit Airlines passengers totaled 77,431, up 62.7%; Allegiant Air passengers totaled 36,291, down 10.3%; JetBlue Airways passengers totaled 24,469, down 20.8%; British Airways passengers totaled 17,282, up 16.3%; Air Canada passengers totaled 10,080, up 138.7%; Frontier Airlines passengers totaled 8,356, down 27.0%; Hawaiian Airlines passengers totaled 7,856, up 20.7%; KLM Royal Dutch Airlines passengers totaled 6,260, up 13.1%; Virgin Atlantic passengers totaled 6,171, up 470.3%; Lufthansa passengers totaled 6,149, up 19.7%; Aeromexico passengers totaled 5,169, down 1.7%; WestJet passengers totaled 782; Sun Country Airlines passengers totaled 319, down 81.1%; All Nippon passengers totaled 198; Nolinor Aviation passengers totaled 160; and Maleth-Aero passengers totaled 112.
May 2023 air cargo totaled 23,983,486 lbs., down 8.8% compared to May 2022. International air cargo totaled 1,176,341 lbs., down 24.20%. Federal Express carried 6,984,162 lbs., down 2.3%; Air Transport International carried 5,205,440 lbs., down 38.4%; Atlas Air carried 3,621,732 lbs., up 86.9%; and United Parcel Services carried 2,818,924 lbs., down 10.3%.
Air Services transferred 319,669 lbs. of mail, down 42.36%; and 2,428,039 lbs. of belly freight, down 27.22%.
Aircraft Operations: General Aviation operations totaled 3,955, down 21.42%. Combined operations (including commercial and military) totaled 23,843 down 1.89%.

Air Transport International carried 37,920,478 lbs., up 12.7%; Federal Express carried 34,060,710 lbs., down 1.1%; United Parcel Services carried 14,074,304 lbs., down 11.7%; and Atlas Air carried 11,271,270 lbs., down 33.6%.
Air Services transferred 1,830,028 lbs. of mail, down 41.47%; and 14,642,751 lbs. of belly freight, up 5.11%.
Aircraft Operations: General Aviation operations totaled 20,446 for January – May 2023, down 6.80%. Combined operations (including commercial and military) totaled 112,392, up 2.34%.
