This project will improve the drainage infrastructure in the area generally bounded by Glenn Lane, Carpenter Avenue, and Slayton Drive in the Georgian Acres neighborhood.

Overview

Watershed Protection Department has identified a portion of storm drain pipe that has collapsed and is not functioning properly. Residents have also reported localized flooding in this area. The proposed improvements would be installed in the right-of-way (ROW) to allow for increased capacity to convey storm water and ensure future maintenance access. These improvements are expected to reduce local flooding of homes, yards, and streets in this area.

Status

Our capital improvement projects take many years from start to finish. The process typically includes the following phases:

  • Preliminary Engineering – when a solution is identified and costs are estimated.
  • Design – when the details are worked out and construction plans are drawn up.
  • Permitting and Bidding – when a contractor is hired and all permits are acquired.
  • Construction – when the project is built.

The project is currently in the design phase. Construction is anticipated to start in Summer 2025.
