NOTICE OF COMPLAINT
March 24, 2023
ICMS #: 2023-0234
On March 22, 2023, the OPO received an online complaint.
The complainant alleges: I was involved in an auto accident and had requested officers to
arrive due to my family being injured and the situation of the other driver being difficult
of not wanting to be corporative.
Upon the first officer arriving to the scene she was ok but made it clear she was wasting
her time saying that she shouldn't even be at the scene this was a waste of time.
The second officer arrived to the scene and this was where the issues really started to occur.
This officer right away was aggressive and started he would have me and my passengers
leave if we did have an issue with him or based off of my tone. I ultimately can not explain
at this moment over a message on how and what was exactly said from this officer
but he made me feel like the Austin police dept was not here to serve and protect
that we were another nuisance and wasting time due to the severity of our accident, which
I will agree. It wasn't a major accident, but was an accident nonetheless and my family was
potentially injured, and I had requested ambulance to overlook and see if potentially
something else is going on with them. This officer was being very blunt, rude, and honestly
unprofessional with the responses he was giving me saying he would have me leave the
scene after I request an ambulance. Multiple times.
All I would ask is for upper management too look into how his reactions and the statements
he made to me were and what was said to see from there view if this is how people are
treated in the event of a auto accident. I requested a police case number and this officer
kept coming up with multiple excuses for reasons why he would not give us one and
excuses on why he wouldn't call the ambulance going to the extent of getting ahold of the
dispatcher to hear a recording of our call and see if we stated anyone was injured. Then
saying I was the reason of my family's injuries. When really the incident could have been
10x worse if it wasn't for me being a professional driver. I avoid going head on with
highway traffic or hitting other obstacles. I was a former Austin Police Explorer and going
through years of training with multiple awards for my service involved showed me how an
officer would react and treat citizens and the community. I feel like this role for this
supervisor was off and he does not deserve this role if he feels as if it is more paper work

and trouble. But to rather have it as a reward. A accomplishment, his actions show the
opposite as if he was not wanting the extra work the extra headache and wanted to be done
with the situation.
Ultimately this is the first ever formal complaint I have ever made but this situation I
underwent was SO impactful to me and my family I felt the need to voice it. I hope to hear
of something from this and hope it wasn't just more wasted time. I truly hope the officer
didn't disable his body camera and tamper with what his humanity wrong doings were.
And if I am not the only person to do a report of this officer and others have maybe major
corrective actions need to be taken. Also other officer invoked but do not have her
information but only a incident number she gave me
Incident report only done. Number
