NOTICE OF COMPLAINT
March 17, 2023
ICMS #: 2023-0210
On March 13, 2023, the OPO received a phone complaint.
The complainant alleges: A group of people came through the complainant's subdivision
burglarizing cars by using a device to clone keys. The complainant's car was broken into,
and $12,000 worth of stuff was stolen including a gun. Detective
called a week
later and by then the fingerprints were gone. The complainant gave Detective
the
date of the incident, the make and model of car, and the license plate number along with
pictures of the people that broke into his car. The complainant tracked his earbuds to
He called and asked that an officer meet him at the location. It took 11
hours. He was there waiting until
APD finally showed up but told him there was
nothing they could do because they did not know what apartment to check. The
complainant asked if they could knock on the door because he saw four vans and five
people taking stuff into the apartment and they were not moving in. The officer still said
they could not do anything.
weeks later the complainant spoke to Detective
and told him he knew where his stuff was. The detective told him that he had seven cases
and would not be able to get to his case right away and told him he was welcome to go
knock on the door. The complainant pays taxes and if he is going to be a detective, he is
going to go to detective school and join the police department. It was an easy case, and he
gave APD all the information they needed, and they did not do anything about the robbery.
The complainant found a driver's license of one of the people breaking into the cars and
he went to the address and was told the person was evicted because he was breaking into
cars. The complainant did an interview with Channel 24. He knows it is not APD's fault
but the stupid city council and the dumb ass Mayor that we had. The complainant has never
seen crime SO bad. The whole town is going to crap. There needs to be more law and order
in this town.
This notice of complaint is a request for Internal Affairs to initiate an investigation to
determine if the employee conduct is within compliance of APD policy, Civil Service
Rules, and Municipal Civil Service Rules.
