NOTICE OF COMPLAINT
March 10, 2023
ICMS #: 2023-0188
On March 6, 2023, the OPO received an email complaint.
The complainant alleges: My name is
and I live in Central Austin.
Recently, at my child's preschool -
, a suspicious man was
seen taking pictures and trying to enter the building. He was young, dressed in black, and
had a camo backpack. This was the first time the staff and parents had seen this man. He
left when confronted. Again, he seemed to be taking pictures, which raises concerns. This
event was reported on
through 311, but as of
, the APD had not investigated.
This event needs to be looked into immediately as mass shooting are on the rise in our
country, and unfortunately, schools have become a common target.
This notice of complaint is a request for Internal Affairs to initiate an investigation to
determine if the employee conduct is within compliance of APD policy, Civil Service
Rules, and Municipal Civil Service Rules.
