On March 3, 2023, the OPO received a phone complaint.
The complainant alleges: The complainant spoke to
about reporting her
daughter missing. She hasn't spoken to her daughter in almost 2 months. Her daughter has
mental health issues.
was very rude. The complainant provided
information about where her daughter works.
replied, "We can't really do anything
about it," stating that the people where she works won't tell APD anything. The
complainant told him, "You're law enforcement they'll tell you anything you want." He
said all he can do is put out a BOLO.
asked her "What have YOU done?" She
explained what she's done, that her family has gone around asking for her daughter because
the complainant just had surgery.
said even if they find her, he can't make her
daughter call her. The complainant responded that she just wants to know if her daughter
is still alive and if someone has made contact with her.
This notice of complaint is a request for Internal Affairs to initiate an investigation to
determine if the employee conduct is within compliance of APD policy, Civil Service
Rules, and Municipal Civil Service Rules.
