NOTICE OF COMPLAINT
January 20, 2023
ICMS #: 2023-0057
On January 20, 2023, the OPO received a phone complaint.
The complainant alleges: The complainant's father's truck was hit while parked by a van
that drove away. Someone got a picture of the license plate. The complainant is a former
judge and police officer and was able to obtain the van owner's phone number. He spoke
with the owner and found out that the valet supervisor of the
had been
driving the van at the time of the hit-and-run. The damage to his father's car is at least
$10,000. The complainant is upset that APD wouldn't talk to him or respond to a call for
service even though this is a Class A misdemeanor and he had located the perpetrator.
This notice of complaint is a request for Internal Affairs to initiate an investigation to
determine if the employee conduct is within compliance of APD policy, Civil Service
Rules, and Municipal Civil Service Rules.
