NOTICE OF COMPLAINT
January 20, 2023
ICMS #: 2023-0046
On January 17, 2023, the OPO received a phone complaint.
The complainant alleges: Another driver hit the right side of his car, causing him to hit
another car in front of him. It was extremely serious. There was a mother and father with
small children in the car the complainant hit. The complainant called the police. The
complainant has witnesses for the accident. The complainant was suspicious of the officer
because of the way the officer spoke to him. Ninety percent of the time the officer was
talking to the driver that hit him and the officer only spoke to the complainant for a couple
of minutes. The complainant is suspicious that the officer is not being fair. The officer
told
him that he did not give a ticket to the person that hit him because the system was down. It
has been almost
, and he has not gotten a report from APD. Each time he has
spoken to the officer the officer tells him he is working on the report. The complainant
needs the report for insurance purposes. The complainant is incurring rental car fees and
fees are being charged for his car which is in tow.
This notice of complaint is a request for Internal Affairs to initiate an investigation to
determine if the employee conduct is within compliance of APD policy, Civil Service
Rules, and Municipal Civil Service Rules.
