NOTICE OF COMPLAINT
March 11, 2022
ICMS #: 2022-0171
On March 9, 2022 the OPO received a phone complaint.
The complainant alleges:
lives in Austin and has made numerous postings on
Facebook about how he is going to kill himself. Three weeks ago, police intervened and
was
put in an in-patient facility.
has posted numerous threats on Facebook about how he is
going to commit suicide, kill his mother, and other terroristic threats. More recently APD was
notified but this time they told the complainant that this is ongoing, others have complained, and
they are not going to do anything this time. The complainant believes that law enforcement is
supposed to step in when a person is showing signs of being in a mental state and if APD does not
intervene this person is going to lose everything and end up dead or homeless.
This notice of complaint is a request for Internal Affairs to initiate an investigation to determine
if the employee conduct is within compliance of APD policy, Civil Service Rules, and Municipal
Civil Service Rules.
