NOTICE OF COMPLAINT
March 11, 2022
ICMS #: 2022-0175
On March 10, 2022 the OPO received a phone complaint.
The complainant alleges: Her daughter was arrested as she was trying to walk away from a fight.
The girl that caused the fight was not arrested. The complainant was not present during the arrest
but stated her daughter has witnesses to attest to her trying to walk away from the fight. The
complainant's daughter asked APD officers to turn on their body cams and the officers responded
they did not have to. Her daughter has bruises all over her body associated with the arrest by the
three APD officers. The officers questioned why her daughter had SO much cash -- the money was
from the jobs she works. Officers told her daughter she would not be arrested or detained but they
did arrest her. The complainant spoke to a friend who is an APD officer and was told that officer
is an asshole, can come off as a racist, and can make the situation worse instead of better.
The complainant worked for APD for ten years, and her daughter knows what not to do.
This notice of complaint is a request for Internal Affairs to initiate an investigation to determine
if the employee conduct is within compliance of APD policy, Civil Service Rules, and Municipal
Civil Service Rules.
