NOTICE OF COMPLAINT
March 25, 2022
ICMS #: 2022-0209
On March 23, 2022, the OPO received a phone complaint.
The complainant alleges: The complainant called 911 because he and his children were being
threatened by a drug dealer, but the responding officer arrested him instead. The complainant asked
the officer for his name and badge number, a police officer monitor, and a supervisor and the
officer did not comply. The responding officer made a comment to his daughter that he was not
going to listen to the words of a drug dealer, insinuating to his daughter that he was the drug dealer.
The officer told the complainant that he knew the other person had warrants but he did not care.
Once the complainant was arrested, the person who threatened him followed through on one of his
threats and vandalized his car. The complainant wants this incident to be investigated because he
feels the officer was not in compliance.
This notice of complaint is a request for Internal Affairs to initiate an investigation to determine
if the employee conduct is within compliance of APD policy, Civil Service Rules, and Municipal
Civil Service Rules.
