NOTICE OF COMPLAINT
April 22, 2022
ICMS #: 2022-0304
On April 20, 2022, the OPO received a phone complaint.
The complainant alleges: The complainant has called the police on several occasions for
protection and each time they have not done anything. The first time a guy had 2 tomahawks and
told him he was going to cut his head off. He called the police. When APD arrived, they treated
him like he was the suspect, asking him questions and telling him to keep his hands out of his
pocket. APD made him stand beside the aggressor who had just threatened to cut his head off.
During another incident, he called APD 15 times because a woman was breaking out his windows
and APD still did not do anything.
the tow truck company came to pick up a car that he
sold. A guy tried to stop the tow company, but the tow truck driver told him he paid $600 for the
car. Later on, that night, the same guy who questioned the tow driver showed up beating on his
door. He called the police because he felt the guy was trying to rob him. When the police arrived,
they did not take a report or do anything to the guy; they just walked away.
This notice of complaint is a request for Internal Affairs to initiate an investigation to determine
if the employee conduct is within compliance of APD policy, Civil Service Rules, and Municipal
Civil Service Rules.
