NOTICE OF COMPLAINT
April 28, 2022
ICMS #: 2022-0317
On April 25, 2022, the OPO received a phone complaint.
The complainant alleges: On her way to work she stopped to drop her daughter off to her ex at
the mediation area. He did not want to accept his daughter and he put his hands on her wrist which
is an assault considering prior domestic violence incidents. She left the area and called the police
SO the incident would be on file. When she requested a copy of the report it was summarized, and
they skipped over her statement that her ex had put his hands on her. APD reported the incident
as child custody interference which is not what she was reporting. She was reporting that her ex
had put his hands on her and she wanted that on file because her ex had previously reported that
she put her hands on him. When she turns the police report over to OAG to make a domestic
violence claim, all they will see is a child custody violation when that was not the case. The person
who took the report did not listen to what she reported.
This notice of complaint is a request for Internal Affairs to initiate an investigation to determine
if the employee conduct is within compliance of APD policy, Civil Service Rules, and Municipal
Civil Service Rules.
