NOTICE OF COMPLAINT
May 13, 2022
ICMS #: 2022-0356
On May 9, 2022, the OPO received an online complaint.
The complainant alleges: I parked in the parking garage nearest the
building at
and a police officer (I didn't see their vehicle #) came up
to the parking garage at an unnecessary speed, and then continued up into the garage at the
same unnecessary speed. They did not have their lights on nor did they acknowledge me
as a pedestrian in the parking garage. Instead, they sped past me, likely without realizing I
was even there. This is unacceptable. Officers need to be aware of pedestrians at all times,
especially in a parking garage. This is not the first time an officer has sped past me in the
parking garage. Please do and be better.
This notice of complaint is a request for Internal Affairs to initiate an investigation to
determine if the employee conduct is within compliance of APD policy, Civil Service
Rules, and Municipal Civil Service Rules.
