NOTICE OF COMPLAINT
July 1, 2022
ICMS #: 2022-0545
On June 28, 2022, the OPO received a phone complaint.
The complainant alleges: She has been working with a detective name
and
she wants to make sure he is an actual police officer. Officer
was recovering some
items from her son that were taken from a previous employer. The person her son was
working for was threatening to file assault charges.
spoke to her son and told
him if he gave the employer his equipment back, hopefully, he would drop the charges.
Her son gave all the equipment back. When her son called detective
to follow
up, he was told there were still assault charges pending and there was nothing he could do.
Her son was trying to hold on to the equipment because the employer owes him $6,000 and
now, he is never going to get anything. Her son is 24 years old and was put in a mental
hospital because of this man. Detective
told her son information she had shared
with him about issues they had leading up to the present situation. She feels he should not
have done that because he knew her son was suffering mentally. She has called
and she still has not gotten a return phone call.
This notice of complaint is a request for Internal Affairs to initiate an investigation to
determine if the employee conduct is within compliance of APD policy, Civil Service
Rules, and Municipal Civil Service Rules.
