NOTICE OF COMPLAINT
October 7, 2022
ICMS #: 2022-0876
On October 3, 2022, the OPO received a phone complaint.
The complainant alleges: The complainant is a domestic violence survivor, was not
getting along with her husband, and was trying to leave the house with their children. Her
husband called the police on her saying that she was in the yard being dangerous with a
weapon to try and keep her from leaving. Her husband put a lock on their minivan SO she
couldn't leave. At first two officers came out, and then three. They said that because the
car belongs to both of them, they can't make him take the lock off. They forced her to stay
there with her husband and their children. The complainant wants to speak with a
supervisor. The complainant made it clear that she is concerned for her safety. When
the
OPO representative stated that it may take weeks for someone to call her back, she said she
"could be dead by then."
This notice of complaint is a request for Internal Affairs to initiate an investigation to
determine if the employee conduct is within compliance of APD policy, Civil Service
Rules, and Municipal Civil Service Rules.
