NOTICE OF COMPLAINT
October 28, 2022
ICMS #: 2022-0990
On October 28, 2022, the OPO received a phone complaint.
The complainant alleges: The complainant's son,
, was
tased 6 times by APD and arrested outside of the game room where he works. The arresting
officer was
#
.
Police ran the plates of the cars in the parking lot and searched
her son's girlfriend's vehicle. Her son was the last person to go to/come out of the
girlfriend's vehicle. The complainant wants to know why they were running the plates in
the parking lot. They knew
had a warrant; he had been working with his lawyer
on that. He was arrested for evading arrest, possession of marijuana, and distributing
marijuana. He was working at his job at the time of his arrest SO how could he be charged
with distributing? He didn't take off running or anything like that. He had his hands in the
air and they tased him 3 times while he was standing there. They should have approached
him the right way and told him why they were arresting him. There were 4-6 officers there
and witnesses. Why would APD handle her son like that?
This notice of complaint is a request for Internal Affairs to initiate an investigation to
determine if the employee conduct is within compliance of APD policy, Civil Service
Rules, and Municipal Civil Service Rules.
