The Community Resiliency Improvement Status Portal (CRISP) was developed by Austin and Travis County Emergency Management Offices to provide insights into disaster response and recovery efforts.

The new system, developed in the open data portal, features After Action Reports (AAR) from significant community emergencies dating back from 2013 to present day. The system outlines key information from disaster responses and tracks progress towards After Action Report recommendations.

CRISP provides status updates on recommendations from After Action Reports and Corrective Action Plans (CAP) that are created after a major emergency occurs in Austin and Travis County. The AARs and CAPs examine the preparation, planning and response to emergencies. This information is reviewed so that Austin-Travis County can gain a better understanding of what worked well and what can be improved upon to provide timely critical services to residents during significant emergency events.

When does CRISP get updated?

The CRISP dashboard is a new system developed in the open data portal to ensure information is transparent and open to the public. As Austin and Travis County continue to review the After Action Report recommendations, we will continue to update the status of each item, and continue to review and enhance CRISP functionality. For questions, contact hsemaaip@austintexas.gov.

How do I read the data in CRISP?

The information in CRISP can be sorted by FEMA mission area or capability, by event, recommendation, or status.

CRISP Status Data Key

Each after action recommendation in the CRISP system is updated with a status.

Completed: A recommendation item is marked completed when all components are complete and status has been verified.

In Progress: The recommendation item has been assigned to a department and work is underway. The status of an item is indicated by percent complete (0 %, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100).

Not Started: The recommendation item has been assigned to a department, but progress on the item has not yet begun, or the department has not recently updated the status of the item.

On Hold or Pending: The recommendation item has not been assigned nor has work begun. For example, the item could be waiting on appropriate resources to be available or the item may not have required funding available to begin on the recommendation.

Closed: A recommendation item is closed if it is a component of another action item, or cannot be completed due to a constraint (i.e. technology, resource, or funding).
