The Austin Police Department (APD) has identified Reginald O’Neal Hodge as the victim of the homicide in the 700 block of 9300 block of E. US 290 Service Road E/B.
On Thursday, February 24, 2022, at approximately 9:15 a.m., 911 received a call of a shooting that occurred at an apartment complex located at 9300 block of E. US 290 SRVD E/B. APD officers and EMS responded to the scene and located a male victim on the ground with trauma to his body. O’Neal was taken to Dell Seton Hospital where he died from his injuries and was pronounced deceased at 9:47 a.m.
Homicide detectives and Crime Scene Specialists responded to process the scene. According to witness interviews, a shooting occurred after an altercation between two residents of the apartment complex.
On February 25, 2022, the Travis County Medical Examiner’s conducted an autopsy and determined the official cause of death as gunshot wound, and the manner, homicide.
