On January 19, 2022, at approximately 8:10 p.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to the 6400 Blk of W. William Cannon to a call of shots fired. As officers arrived on scene, they found two victims with gunshot wounds in a red Kia.
The victim stated a white truck was driving erratically and cut the victim off as they traveled west on Hwy 290, before turning right on W. William Cannon from the turn lane. As the victims made their turn, the suspect vehicle also turned right from a westbound lane colliding with the driver’s side of the victim car. The driver of the truck then produced a handgun and discharged multiple rounds into the victim’s vehicle. Each victim was struck at least once, and the vehicle had 6 bullet holes.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, with two other Hispanic male passengers. The suspect’s vehicle is described as being a newer, white model 4 door truck, possibly a Ford F150 or Ram 1500. The suspect vehicle should have red transfer paint on the passenger side from the collision.
