Austin-Bergstrom International Airport Travel Advisory
Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) expects a consistently high volume of travelers during the Spring Festival and Spring Break travel season, which begins on Thursday, March 7 and ends on Sunday, March 17. Particularly, the following days are expected to be very busy for departing travelers:
- Thursday, March 7
- Friday, March 8
- Sunday, March 10
- Monday, March 11
Travelers are encouraged to arrive at least 2.5 hours early prior to their domestic flight’s departure time and at least 3 hours early for international flights, no matter which day of the week or time of day your flight is scheduled for. Travelers flying out as part of a large group, with small children or those who need to check luggage or drop off a rental car should give themselves plenty of time to perform all their needed activities prior to joining TSA screening lines. Travelers with carry-on luggage only and TSA Pre-Check or Clear can expect to have a faster experience than those with checked luggage or General TSA screening only.
AUS has more resources, like comprehensive travel tips, construction alerts, concession information and a digital wayfinding map available at FlyAustin.com.
Leave No Trace

- Take trash and leftover food with you when you leave Austin’s green spaces.
- Scoop the poop and dispose of pet waste bags in designated areas.
- Leave rocks, plants, flowers, and other natural objects as you find them.
