CPCP refurbishes surplus computers to distribute to nonprofits on an ongoing basis. CPCP receives device donations from local organizations as well as City offices. Information Technology interns with local nonprofits may gain experience by assisting in the refurbishment of these devices.
The program supports devices from any major manufacturer, equipped with at least an Intel I3 or AMD Ryzen series 3 processor and 4GB of RAM. The City of Austin is also a Microsoft Certified Refurbisher, and devices can be installed with Windows 10 and/or Microsoft Office Suite, at a cost of $6 per license. Further information regarding intake standards can be found on the Device Donation page.
The devices are surplus property, and organizations interested in donating devices to the program do not need to enter into a contract. Learn more about requesting devices or apply below.
CPCP also accepts donated devices. Interested organizations should read the FAQ and consider submitting a donation form.
