The APD Burglary Unit investigates crimes against property and is specifically tasked with investigating residential and non-residential/commercial burglaries, inside the City of Austin.
The unit's goal is to increase the number of solved cases and successfully prosecute offenders committing burglaries. It is comprised of sergeants, detectives, an administrative specialist, and a crime analyst who work with the APD District Representative Units, the Commercial Burglary and Metal Theft Unit, the Austin Regional Intelligence Center (ARIC), and other local agencies to identify suspects who commit crimes in adjoining jurisdictions.
