During 2010, City staff worked closely with a local vendor to conduct an exhaustive review of the old City website, including the site's visitors, audiences and internal users.
Vendors utilized a variety of research methodologies, including site intercept surveys and focus groups. Additionally, they conducted a complete evaluation of the City's web infrastructure.
The end result of this work was a number of reports and recommendations, including a design concept, technology recommendation and extensive data about internal and external users of the site. City staff used these recommendations as a guide during Phase 2 of the project, May - December 2011.
