You can verify your property’s jurisdiction by visiting the City of Austin’s Development Web Map and following the steps below:

  • To find an address:
    1. Make sure the Search Type dropdown states “Address”. The button is located at the top next to the City of Austin seal.
    2. Enter the address in the text box next to the “Address” button and click GO
    3. It will show you a list of address matches. It looks for a match to an address point first, and then on a street range if a point doesn’t exist. We recommend picking the Address whenever possible. Simply select the one you want in the list. It will take you to that location.
  • To verify the jurisdiction of the address:
    1. Choose Identify under the Map Tools dropdown.
    2. Click on the address in the map.
    3. A pop-up box with the Identify Results will show up. If necessary, click the Features dropdown arrow within the Identify Results box and choose (Jurisdiction).
