Sherles Gregorio Machado-Hernandez was taken into custody in the 900 block of Fairfield Drive in North Central Austin this evening after an extensive search by APD patrol officers, APD Air1, APD Missing Persons, APD Metro-tac, the APD Violent Crimes Task Force, APD Tactical Intel, and the Department of Public Safety (DPS). He is being booked into the Travis County Jail.

Previous Release #2 Linking Homicide to Amber Alert:

Time: 7:38 a.m.
Location: 1800 block of Burton Drive
APD responded to a double homicide this morning in the 1800 block of Burton Drive. Two individuals were found deceased in a vehicle, one male and one female, with apparent gunshot wounds.
The deceased female had three children, which were unaccounted for, and an Amber Alert was issued for the missing children. They have since been located and are safe.
No weapon was recovered, and the suspect whose photo is pictured below, has been identified as Sherles Gregorio Machado-Hernandez. He has not been located and is considered armed and dangerous.
