The Austin Police Department (APD) Homicide Unit continues to seek the community's assistance to find the person or persons who killed 27-year-old D’Andre Isaiah Day. Mr. Day was found deceased on the corner of 6th and Brazos streets on September 4, 2022. During the investigation, detectives learned Mr. Day was involved in a disturbance near the intersection of 7th and Colorado streets. Detectives believe Mr. Day's injuries were sustained during this disturbance. Detectives are actively working on the case and have exhausted all leads. A motive for the killing has not been determined. Based on the information obtained in this case, it appears to be isolated with no threat to the public.
Three persons of interest and a vehicle have been captured on video. Additionally, three potential witnesses have been captured on video. These videos can be found on APD’s Official YouTube Channel. Homicide detectives continue to actively investigate this case and request the public’s help with identifying witnesses and persons of interest. Detectives have previously released surveillance footage of the disturbance.

Additionally, detectives are seeking the public’s help in identifying the owners of the following vehicle, believed to be a silver 2003-2005 Honda Accord.

Deceased: D'Andre Isaiah Day, Black male, 03/01/95
On Sunday, September 4, 2022, at approximately 2:34 a.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers were flagged down at the corner of 6th St and Brazos St. Officers found D'Andre Isaiah Day, seen in the white shirt on surveillance video, lying on the ground with what appeared to be life-threatening stab wounds. Day was taken to the hospital, where he later died.
Homicide detectives and Crime Scene Specialists responded to investigate the scene. During the on-scene investigation, detectives determined that Day and a friend had been in an altercation with three other men. One of the three unidentified men stabbed Day. The stabbing appears to have escalated from a random meeting on the street. The investigation is still ongoing, and detectives believe this to be an isolated incident with no threat to the public.
A passerby appeared to have recorded the altercation but possibly did not realize the severity and left the area. Investigators ask the public to come forward with any information or video.

This case is being investigated as Austin's 53rd homicide of 2022.
