Arrested: Timmel Eggleston, Black male, 25 years of age
UPDATE: During the course of the investigation, Homicide detectives identified the individual who shot and killed Picazzo as Timmel Eggleston. A warrant for First Degree Felony Murder was issued for Eggleston’s arrest. Eggleston was subsequently arrested and is currently being held in Travis County Jail.

Deceased: Alan Picazzo, Hispanic male, 05/12/99
On Saturday, April 27, 2024, at approximately 6:30 a.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to multiple shots fired calls at The Quincy apartments located at 91 Red River Street.
APD officers and Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services (A/TCEMS) arrived on scene and located a male subject, later identified as Alan Picazzo, with apparent gunshot wounds. A/TCEMS transported Picazzo to a local hospital, where he later died as a result of his injuries.
Homicide detectives and Crime Scene Specialists responded to process the scene and interview witnesses. The investigation revealed that Alan Picazzo had been in a disturbance with another individual before it escalated into the shooting.
