On March 16, 2025, at approximately 8:17 p.m., Austin Police Department (APD) Officers responded to the intersection of W Braker Ln and N Mopac Expwy SVRD NB for a crash between a vehicle and a motorcycle. The motorcyclist was pronounced deceased on scene. The driver remained on-side and is cooperating with the investigation. The driver and passenger of the vehicle sustained minor injuries.
 
This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 17th fatal crash of 2025, resulting in 21 fatalities. This investigation is ongoing.  On the date of this crash in 2024, 17 fatal crashes resulted in 17 deaths.
