On Thursday, August 8, 2024, at approximately 8:39 a.m., Austin Police Department (APD) Officers responded to a crash involving a vehicle and two pedestrians in the intersection of Hillview Road and Greenlee Drive. One of the pedestrians, later identified as Allison Baker, was pronounced deceased on the scene. The second pedestrian was transported to a local hospital for serious injuries. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene, was not injured or impaired, and is cooperating with the investigation.       
 
This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 51st fatal crash of 2024, resulting in 54 fatalities for the year. On the date of this crash in 2023, 56 fatal crashes resulted in 59 fatalities.
