On Monday, December 9, 2024, at approximately 6:08 p.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a crash between two motor vehicles at the intersection of E Riverside Dr. and Clubview Ave. One of the vehicle's passengers was transported to a local hospital, where she was later identified as Regina Natalie Reyes and pronounced deceased. Both drivers remained on scene, showed no signs of impairment, and are cooperating with the investigation.
 
This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 85th fatal crash of 2024, resulting in 90 fatalities. On the date of this crash in 2023, 84 fatal crashes resulted in 87 fatalities.
