On Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at 3:36 a.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a single vehicle crash in the 9400 block of East US 290 highway service road. The driver, Jennifer Guadalupe Manriquez-Ramirez, was taken to a local hospital, where she later died on March 14.
 
This incident is being investigated as Austin's 14th fatal crash of 2024, resulting in 14 fatalities for the year. On the date of this crash in 2023, 20 fatal crashes resulted in 20 fatalities.
