On Monday, June 24, 2024 at approximately 6:04 a.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a crash between a vehicle and a pedestrian in the 9200 block of Cameron Road. The driver of the vehicle left the scene immediately after the crash without stopping or calling 9-1-1. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased on scene.

This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 35th fatal crash of 2024, resulting in 36 fatalities for the year. On the date of this crash in 2023, 48 fatal crashes resulted in 48 fatalities.
