On Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at approximately 7:05 p.m. Austin Police Department (APD) Officers responded to a crash between a vehicle and a pedestrian in the 8800 Block of S. Mopac Expwy NB. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene. Both, the driver and passenger of the vehicle were uninjured. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 11th fatal crash of 2025, resulting in 11 fatalities. This investigation is ongoing. On the date of this crash in 2024, 12 fatal crashes resulted in 12 deaths.
