On Monday, March 10, 2025 at approximately 04:36 a.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to the 8600 block of FM 969 Road for a crash involving a sedan and a pickup truck. The driver of the sedan, later identified as Trynadei Kristen Thomas-Bailey, was pronounced deceased on scene. The driver of pickup truck was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
 
This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 13th fatal crash of 2025, resulting in 13 fatalities. This investigation is ongoing. On the date of this crash in 2024, 12 fatal crashes resulted in 12 deaths.
