On Friday, May 10, at approximately 3:58 p.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a crash between a vehicle and a bicyclist in the 7400 block of Ed Bluestein Boulevard SB. The unidentified bicyclist was pronounced deceased on scene. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene, was not impaired, and is cooperating with the investigation. 

This incident is being investigated as Austin's 25th fatal crash of 2024, resulting in 25 fatalities for the year. On the date of this crash in 2023, 34 fatal crashes resulted in 34 fatalities.
