On Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at approximately 6:03 p.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to the 6800 block of E. US 290 Hwy EB for a crash involving two vehicles. The driver of the first vehicle was pronounced deceased on scene. The driver of the second vehicle was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 14th fatal crash of 2025, resulting in 14 fatalities. This investigation is ongoing. On the date of this crash in 2024, 14 fatal crashes resulted in 14 deaths.
