On Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at approximately 9:39 p.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a crash between a sedan and an unidentified pedestrian in the 5600 block of N IH 35 SB. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased on scene. The driver remained on scene, was not impaired, and is cooperating with the investigation.
 
This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 44th fatal crash of 2024, resulting in 47 fatalities for the year. On the date of this crash in 2023, 53 fatal crashes resulted in 53 fatalities.
