On Monday, November 11, 2024, at 6:30 p.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a crash between a vehicle and a pedalcylist in the 400 block of Montopolis Drive. The unidentified pedalcyclist was pronounced deceased on scene. The driver of the vehicle suffered minor injuries, was not impaired, and remained on scene.
 
This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 77th fatal crash of 2024, resulting in 82 fatalities. On the date of this crash in 2023, 77 fatal crashes resulted in 80 fatalities.
