On Thursday, November 21, 2024, at 8:43 p.m., Austin Police Department (APD) Officers responded to crash between a van and a sedan in the 2700 Barton Springs. The driver of the van was transported to Dell Seton, where he was pronounced deceased. The driver and a passenger of the sedan were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
 
This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 79th fatal crash of 2024, resulting in 84 fatalities. On the date of this crash in 2023, 79 fatal crashes resulted in 82 fatalities.
