On Friday, December 6, 2024, at approximately 5:26 p.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a three-vehicle collision in the 13000 block of North US 183 HWY NB. The driver of one of the vehicles, later identified as Magda Anastacia Porras, was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Ms. Porras was later pronounced deceased on Sunday, December 15, 2024.
 
This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 89th fatal crash of 2024, resulting in 95 fatalities. On the date of this crash in 2023, 82 fatal crashes resulted in 85 fatalities.
