On Friday, June 28, 2024 at approximately 10:08 a.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a single vehicle crash in the 1200 block of West Ben White Boulevard SVRD WB. The driver, later identified as Gerald Farcus, was transported to a local hospital and was later pronounced deceased.  

This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 37th fatal crash of 2024, resulting in 38 fatalities for the year. On the date of this crash in 2023, 49 fatal crashes resulted in 49 fatalities.
