On Saturday, April 5, 2025, at approximately 1:24 a.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian in the 1200 block of North IH35 SB. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased on the scene. The driver and passenger of the vehicle were not injured, the driver was not impaired, and both cooperated with the investigation.
 
This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 22nd fatal crash of 2025, resulting in 26 fatalities. This investigation is ongoing. On the date of this crash in 2024, 20 fatal crashes resulted in 20 deaths.
