On Sunday, December 29, 2024, at 1:09 p.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a crash between two vehicles in the 10500 block of N IH 35 SB. The driver of the first vehicle was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased on January 6, 2025. The driver of the second vehicle was not injured.
 
This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 95th fatal crash of 2024, resulting in 102 fatalities. On the date of this crash in 2023, 89 fatal crashes resulted in 92 fatalities.
