For City aquatic staff, Spring Break means Training and Hiring lifeguards for the swim season.
As temperatures heat up quickly in Central Texas, the Aquatic Division of the Parks and Recreation Department continues to prepare for the upcoming swim season, hiring lifeguards starting at $21.63 per hour.
Lifeguard certification training is ongoing and there are lots of opportunities during spring break, March 16-22. There are 34 City of Austin pools, so the Aquatic Team hopes to hire hundreds of new lifeguards before schools let out!
Lifeguard training and hiring starts at age 15 and there is no age limit. Candidates from diverse origins, orientations, identities, and abilities are welcome. Learn more at LifeguardAustin.com.
Lifeguard Hiring Open Hours
Stop by the Aquatic Office, 2818 San Gabriel St., to fill out your application and get free pizza at two upcoming hiring open hours. Bring your ID and social security card to expedite the process. Lifeguard hiring open hours are an easy way to get the paperwork out of the way.
