| To address safety concerns at Commons Ford Ranch Metropolitan Park, the Austin Parks and Recreation Department (PARD) will limit vehicle capacity during high use periods. This adjustment helps ensure proper ingress and egress for emergency and staff vehicles. Beginning on Thursday, July 4, PARD will limit parking to specified areas within Commons Ford. Park Rangers will assist with directing traffic and explaining the change in operations. No parking will be allowed outside the park’s gated entrance. Vehicles outside the gated entrance will be subject to towing. Once capacity is reached, no additional vehicles will be allowed to enter. Current modified parking will be in effect from Thursday, July 4 through Sunday, July 7. PARD requests park visitors be considerate of each other and local residents, carpool when possible, and practice Leave No Trace principles. Taking care of Austin's parks requires everyone's help to preserve our natural spaces and public places. |
