AUSTIN, TEXAS – Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) passenger traffic growth for May 2024 was up 4.37% compared to May 2023 with 2,068,404 passengers flying during the month, making it the busiest month on record at AUS. This surpasses the previous record set in July 2023 by an additional 27,423 total passengers.

Passenger Activity: Total passenger traffic for May 2024 was 2,068,404, up 4.37% compared to May 2023. May 2024 enplanements totaled 1,056,171, up 4.16%. Southwest Airlines passengers totaled 870,751, up 15.3%; American Airlines passengers totaled 394,594, down 17.8%; Delta Air Lines passengers totaled 332,802, up 42.4%; United Airlines passengers totaled 220,952, down 3%; Alaska Airlines passengers totaled 70,310, down 10.2%; Spirit Airlines passengers totaled 37,740, down 51.3%; Allegiant Air passengers totaled 34,513, down 4.9%; British Airways passengers totaled 18,133, up 4.9%; Frontier Airlines passengers totaled 17,788, up 112.9%; JetBlue Airways passengers totaled 16,162, down 33.9%; Air Canada passengers totaled 15,620, up 55%; Hawaiian Airlines passengers totaled 7,600, down 3.3%; KLM Royal Dutch Airlines passengers totaled 6,963, up 11.2%; Lufthansa passengers totaled 6,367, up 3.5%; Aeromexico passengers totaled 5,433, up 5.1%; Copa Airlines passengers totaled 5,345; Viva Aerobus passengers totaled 2,823; West Jet passengers totaled 2,395, up 206.3%; Sun Country Airlines passengers totaled 1,870, up 486.2% and Korean Air passengers totaled 243.
May 2024 air cargo totaled 26,434,406 lbs., up 10.22% compared to May 2023. International air cargo totaled 1,994,771 lbs., up 69.57%. Air Transport International carried 7,840,128 lbs., up 50.6%; Federal Express carried 7,593,771 lbs., up 8.7%; United Parcel Services carried 2,498,244 lbs., down 11.4%; and Atlas Air carried 2,202,672 lbs., down 39.2%.
Air Services transferred 51,194 lbs. of mail, down 83.99%; and 3,344,519 lbs. of belly freight, up 37.75%.
Aircraft Operations: General Aviation operations totaled 3,431, down 13.25%. Combined operations (including commercial and military) totaled 22,966, down 3.68%.

Passenger Activity: Total passenger traffic for January – May 2024 was 8,808,722, up 0.8%, compared to January – May 2023. January – May 2024 enplanements totaled 4,409,768, up 0.73%. Southwest Airlines passengers totaled 3,712,966, up 10.4%; American Airlines passengers totaled 1,836,506, down 15.4%; Delta Air Lines passengers totaled 1,235,866, up 24.7%; United Airlines passengers totaled 1,031,449, up 4.7%; Alaska Airlines passengers totaled 310,315, down 10.1%; Spirit Airlines passengers totaled 149,692, down 58.3%; Allegiant Air passengers totaled 121,593, down 18.1%; JetBlue Airways passengers totaled 96,119, down 7.9%; British Airways passengers totaled 76,970, up 6.6%; Frontier Airlines passengers totaled 51,073, up 22.5%; Air Canada passengers totaled 38,950, up 54.3%; KLM Royal Dutch Airlines passengers totaled 28,138, up 5.1%; Lufthansa passengers totaled 27,206, up 8.2%; Hawaiian Airlines passengers totaled 25,735, down 18.4%; Aeromexico passengers totaled 25,626, up 7.6%; Copa Airlines passengers totaled 23,246; Sun Country Airlines passengers totaled 6,670, up 168%; Viva Aerobus passengers totaled 6,525; West Jet passengers totaled 2,613, up 234.1%; Virgin Atlantic passengers totaled 1,136, down 94.4%; Korean Air passengers totaled 243; Titan Airways passengers totaled 44; and Flightworx Aviation passengers totaled 41.
January – May 2024 air cargo totaled 125,311,379 lbs., up 2.75% compared to January – May 2023. International air cargo totaled 11,790,930 lbs., up 21.85%. Air Transport International carried 40,773,108 lbs., up 7.5%; Federal Express carried 33,281,848 lbs., down 2.3%; United Parcel Services carried 11,865,149 lbs., down 15.7%; Atlas Air carried 9,185,438 lbs., down 18.5%; and Sun Country Airlines carried 7,551,974 lbs., up 140.3%.
Air Services transferred 455,155 lbs. of mail, down 75.13%; and 16,288,208 lbs. of belly freight, up 11.24%.
Aircraft Operations: General Aviation operations totaled 17,816 for January – May 2024, down 12.86%. Combined operations (including commercial and military) totaled 107,187, down 4.63%.
