On Sunday, January 7, 2024, at approximately 4:46 a.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to multiple calls of a shooting at 9411 Parkfield Drive. The callers reported that multiple people had been shot. Officers arrived on scene and located two unresponsive males with apparent gunshot wounds, Deondre Flint and Jamie Davis. Flint and Davis died a short time later. A third person was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.
Homicide detectives and crimes scene specialists responded to process the scene. During the course of the investigation, it was determined that Davis and his girlfriend had been asked to leave the game room and they walked out. Security for the game room including Deondre Flint, walked into the parking lot as well. Davis’ girlfriend and a female employee of the game room began to physically fight. The fight escalated into a shooting between Davis and security for the club. It was determined Davis shot Flint causing his death and Davis was shot by another security employee who has cooperated in the investigation.
The case was staffed with the Travis County District Attorney’s Office who determined the shooting by the security employee was justified. No charges were filed or are expected to be filed at this time.
